SURIADARMA BASE

Very special sight: The Indonesian Bell G-47 on floats !

There was an intensive training going on when we visited...

... at Skadron Udara 7 for pilots and groundcrew a busy day !

The Indonesian Bell G-47 you'll never see in Europe on airshows. We show them here for you !

Another 'Eastern beauty' is the 'Colibri'

The type is known as Eurocopter EC-125 Kolibri
The use pleases very well, it's a fast and dedicated helicopter for Suriadarma

Logo's, plate and symbol of the base, Skuadron 7

... as well as Piper Cherokee and this red Wilga, used to pull the gliders up

SURIADARMA HISTORY

Suriadarma houses a small museum. At this place the Dutch surrender was signed on the 8th of March 1942, leaving Indonesia in Japanese hands. Some Japanese ex-soldiers return here still every year !

These original nametags still stand on the table, flanked by the Dutch and Japanese flag

Finally we show you some VIP's on the wall and some original plates
Suriadarma museum is very well worth visiting once you are in Indonesia !

AERO MEDICAL INSTITUTE

In Jakarta we were allowed to picture this fine Dakota at the AMI, where pilots and other military men from soldiers to generals are examined on all kinds of medical aspects

MUSEUM SATRIAMANDALA

To use our time well we visited this museum on the sunday after arriving
iiiiii
We show you only a few of the many aircraft exposed overthere such as this Mil-Mi-4 'Hound'

Fairey Gannet and P-51D Mustang in reasonable shape

A Mitchell bomber, fine from the outside and a North American T-6 Texan Harvard

A  Bell-205 Huey and a Mikoyan Guerevich Mig 21 Fishbed, all in very good shape !

FASI GLIDER CLUB

Federasi Aerosport Indonesia

PZL 104 - Wilga, in Indonesia called 'Gelatik' used by the Military allied Gliderclub

A view in the interior of the Gelatik, extremely easy but functional

A view at the engine, easy as well but reliable, the Gelatiks are in various colours

Pondok cabe hangar where the gliders are painted colourful, nest you see them on the field

The gliders are also in many colours, and have a miliatry registration

About these gliders we have (at this moment) only the story in Dutch

A Gelatik just returns, whila a Husky pulls up another glider

A better look at the Husky...

... some nice logo's on fuselages, and... That was it !
